On June 29, 2016, the City Council approved Agreement No. 16-117 for $100,000.00 with Group Delta Consultants, Inc. (Consultant) to provide on-call asbestos survey services for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-2017, FY 2017-2018, and FY 2018-2019.
On June 28, 2019, the City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 16-117 with the Consultant, which extended the term of the agreement by one year, to June 30, 2020, to cover FY 2019-2020, with an increase in compensation of $25,000, for a total not-to-exceed $125,000.
The Consultant continues to provide exceptional asbestos survey services to the City in a prompt manner. Asbestos survey services are periodically necessary for CIP projects. In these cases, asbestos and other hazardous materials in structures are evaluated so that proper mitigation and disposal methods can be performed. Utilization of these services commonly occurs on projects where demolition of existing structures is required and for the remodeling of certain City facilities. The Consultant has helped staff to efficiently schedule and complete CIP work in timely manner.
The funding source for this agreement is through budgeted CIP projects in various funds. Staff recommends extending the term of the agreement through June 30, 2021, and expanding the scope to include FY 2020-2021 CIP projects. Staff recommends no increase in compensation. The Consultant's total compensation after this amendment is not-to-exceed $125,000.
Staff will be issuing a new Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in Spring 2021 to solicit proposals for on-call asbestos survey services for future CIP projects; therefore, staff does not anticipate any additional amendments for this consultant in the future.
