| SUBJECT: | Accept bid from Jim Burke Ford ($183,540.40) for the purchase of service body trucks with ladder racks. |
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends acceptance of the bid. |
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited for four service body trucks with ladder racks. One bid in the amount of $183,540.40 was received from Jim Burke Ford in Bakersfield.
The four service body trucks will be issued to the General Services Division for day-to-day operations for transporting tools and ladders to City sites. Three of the service trucks are additional vehicles funded by the Public Safety and Vital Services Measure. One of the service trucks will replace a unit that is 19 years old and is beyond its useful life. Funds are budgeted in the Equipment Management Fund for this purchase.
Staff finds the bid submitted by Jim Burke Ford, to be acceptable and recommends approval of the purchase.
