Bids were solicited for a 14,000 lb. Gas Powered Truck with 8’ Service Body and Ladder Rack for the Technology Services Department. Two bids were received in response to the solicitation.
This purchase will replace a unit that is more than twenty-one years old and meets the criteria for replacement by the Fleet Division.
The second lowest responsive bidder is a local vendor eligible for consideration of the 3% Local Preference Council policy. After application of the 3% differential, Motor City GMC, Bakersfield, CA, becomes the lowest bidder.
Funds in the amount of $117,617 have been recovered through Fleet rental rates and will be used to fund the cost of the new unit. An appropriation of $95,276.80 Equipment Management Fund balance to the Public Works Department’s Operating Budget is necessary to complete the purchase of the service truck with ladder rack for the Technology Services Department.
