SUBJECT:Accept bid and approve contract to Burtch Construction ($391,072) for parking lot and access improvements phase II for the Recreation and Parks Department.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends acceptance of bid and approval of contract.
BACKGROUND:

Bids were solicited for parking lot and access improvements at two City park locations.  Two bids were received in response to the solicitation.

 

This project will make improvements to the parking lots and access points including enhancements to existing parking lots for ADA access at two City parks.  The City park locations are Kern River Parkway Lots A & B, and Planz Park.

 

The bid specifications required contractors to provide a base bid for work to be performed at each park location.  Funds budgeted in the Recreation and Parks Capital Improvement Budget within the Public Safety/Vital Services Fund will allow for the award of the base bids for the two City parks.  The detail of all submitted bids is attached.

 

The two bids received are as follows:

Staff finds the bid submitted by Burtch Construction to be acceptable and recommends approval of the contract in the amount of $391,072.
